The Nursery
Whilst the environment, furniture and resources are important, the most valuable resource of all is the adults who work with the children. The quality of the relationships between the adults who work with the children is vital.
Our practitioners are skilled at working with young children and understand about their role in enabling children to become strong, confident, competent learners. They understand about how babies and young children learn, and observe, reflect on, and record children’s progress, to help them to plan to meet the needs of each individual child. Our administrators, cooks and cleaners share this vision, they work closely with our practitioners as an integrated team, and all have a passionate commitment to the centre and its aims.
To provide the best possible care, our ratio of adults to children is:
0 – 2 years 1 practitioner to 3 children
2 – 3 years 1 practitioner to 4 children
3 – 5 years 1 practitioner to 8 children
